Welcome to Sober Livers

In June 2024 Sober Livers, a new groundbreaking organization for patients with alcohol use disorder and alcohol-related liver disease, launch with great success.  Patients seeking support that only comes from those that have walked in the same shoes suddenly realized they are not alone.

YOU are not Alone!

Introducting the HOPE Program! (Healing Ourselves with Peers and Education)

Monthly Meetings, 2nd Tuesday , 7 PM ET

Meeting agendas alternate between open discussion and education.   Our education sessions feature guests from all areas of liver health.   Participants will receive the zoom link to the meeting on the day of the event.    Links are not sharable!

Private Facebook Group

In between our monthly meetings, our participants have access to a private Facebook group where conversations started in our zoom meetings can be continued and expanded.   Participants are encouraged to engage in lively conversation about a variety of topics and provide non-medical support to one another.

Whole Health Advisory Council (WHAC)

Although Sober Livers is not a substitute for addiction recovery programs and regular doctor visits, we have a strong, nationwide group of medical and mental health professionals.  The WHAC can provide answers to some general questions that Sober Livers facilitators are not comfortable answering.

The need is evident, and we cannot do it alone!   Please consider make a tax-deductible donation to Sober Livers today!

Welcome to Sober Livers!

A welcome message from Founder, Jenn Jones

What is Sober Livers all about?

Beth Lehman, Principal Strategic Advisor shares what Sober Livers is and what we ar not...

Sober Livers is the missing piece...

In the Fall, 2023, Jenn Jones presented at an NIAAA Council Meeting, and illustrated the need for an organization dedicated to people with alcohol-associated liver diseases and transplant due to alcohol...

Note: Presentation was before name change to Sober Livers and merger with Fatty Liver Foundation.

Sober Livers

Our Mission

Sober Livers' mission is to empower individuals diagnosed with alcohol-associated liver disease(s) (ALD(s)) and those who have had a transplant due to alcohol, by supporting them in discovering and embracing their personalized alcohol recovery journey, while offering guidance through the complexities of managing their liver condition.

Vision

Our vision is to drastically decrease excessive drinking in this country and eliminate the stigma associated with alcohol use disorder and

all liver diseases.

Purpose

No human diagnosed with alcohol-associated liver disease(s) or has had a transplant due to alcohol should endure the complexities of this journey in solitude; Sober Livers is dedicated to creating a nurturing environment where individuals are empowered to reclaim their agency, fostering their unique alcohol recovery pathways and navigating the intricacies of their condition with the compassionate support of peers, mentors, comprehensive education, and access to

essential external resources.
