Who is the HOPE Program for...

 Individual diagnosed with an ALD

  • Steatotic (Fatty) liver diseases
  • Metabolic dysfunction with alcohol-associated liver disease (MetALD)
  • Alcohol-induced hepatitis
  • Cirrhosis (compensated, decompensated, recompensated)
  • Liver cancer
  • Post-transplant

Purpose-filled...

  No human diagnosed with liver disease or has had a transplant due to alcohol should endure the complexities of this journey alone; Sober Livers' H.O.P.E. Program creates a nurturing environment where individuals are empowered to reclaim their agency, fostering their unique alcohol recovery pathway, while navigating the intricacies of their condition with the compassionate support of peers, mentors, comprehensive education, and access to essential external resources.

  Lived Experience Group Facilitators:

Beth Lehman, Principal Strategic Advisor, a liver recipient, and Jenn Jones, Founder, with a recompensated cirrhotic liver, which means her liver was decompensated at diagnosis, have embraced similar life practices...

  • Abstinence – Different recovery pathways
  • Healthy food consumption
  • Variety of physical activity
  • Adhering to medical providers' direction:
    • Medications
    • Blood work
    • Scans
  • Following mental health providers’ guidance

We are not:

  • Licensed Counselors or Medical Providers
  • Patient care partners

What we provide:  

  • A safe, no-judgment space for people to share about AUD and ALD struggles and triumphs
  • A social network of people who share similar goals
  • A place to gain education about AUD, ALD and liver transplant, holistic healthcare, and outside resources
  • Anonymity to the extent participants want to be anonymous


What we don't provide:

  • Medical advice
  • AUD treatment

Every other month, you'll engage with seasoned health professionals, enriching your understanding and empowering your journey. Your voice shapes this program; your input on health topics is paramount. While we curate a diverse range of subjects, our aim is to captivate and benefit all participants, regardless of where they are on their path to wellness. Embracing knowledge together, we unlock avenues for personal growth and extend a supportive hand to others.
